A blueprint for ending political corruption, eliminating PACs, and restoring accountability to Congress

Washington Is Broken And Only Voters Can Fix It

Washington is broken. Only “We the People” can fix it. Until enough voters realize the problem with Washington, the big money, the corruption, the paper bags of hundred-dollar bills, the gold bars and the misinformation, nothing will happen. The adage is certainly true: “You cannot expect change if you elect the same people.”

I have talked to several Democrats, and they agree but the hate Trump rhetoric keeps them voting for the same old crew. Democrats know how to control their constituents, just like the brown shirts of NAZI Germany. Ever wonder why Germany fell for the NAZI minority? The hate speech. Bill Clinton started the hate speech to keep the Democrats in line. The left moves farther left, and the right moves farther right. The expense is immense to go back and forth. Build a wall, tear it down.

The Two-Party System Is Failing America

The two-party system doesn’t work anymore. Federalist Paper 10 warns America about becoming two factions and destroying the Republic. It has certainly come true. Elon Musk had the right idea elect enough third-party representatives so neither party has a majority. The two parties have successfully kept any third party from playing. With the shutdown of the government, guess who gets paid: Congress.

This is the core failure the Purple Revolution is organized to address a political class that serves itself rather than the citizens it was elected to represent. Read more about how political unity and fiscal reform go hand in hand.

The 11-Point Congressional Reform Plan

We need to elect a new Congress one that will do the following:

  1. Make it a law that makes it illegal to have continuing resolutions.
  2. Make it a law that if there is no budget by September 1st, the House of Representatives will be sent home for new elections. The existing house members cannot run for reelection.
  3. Make it a law that if there is no budget by September 1, the budget for the following fiscal year is 10% less than the current year.
  4. Make it a law that Congress must buy their own health care.
  5. Make it a law that Congress is on Social Security.
  6. Make it a law that the states pay for the salaries of Congress. They are not federal employees. They represent the state. Congress gets a salary while in office. No salary for life. No tenure, no pensions.
  7. Make it a law that changes federal elections to start the day after Labor Day and end on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Election on Saturday.
  8. Make it a law eliminating PACs and Super PACs. Elections should be funded by registered voters in the district of the candidate, with a limit of $200 per candidate and $2,000 per election.
  9. Make it a law that any member of Congress accepting money other than salary be automatically removed from Congress. Any member of the administration receiving bribes should be fired and tried for treason.
  10. Make it a law that the federal government cannot borrow money until the debt is less than 10% of GDP and the Social Security and Disability Trust funds are free of IOUs.
  11. Congress must abide by all the laws they impose on the electorate.

The 2026 Elections Are the Turning Point

America, please be aware. The 2026 elections are coming up, and we need a pledge from the candidates that will implement the policies just mentioned.

As Thomas Jefferson quoted: “A little rebellion now and then is a good thing.”

The Purple Revolution blog documents the specific reforms needed from stopping government fraud to protecting Social Security. Read them all and share widely before November 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is wrong with the two-party system in America?

The two-party system has created a self-reinforcing cycle of partisanship where neither party is held accountable for outcomes. Federalist Paper 10 warned that faction-driven governance would destroy the Republic and that warning has proven accurate. Neither party has incentive to solve problems; both have incentive to perpetuate them.

How can Congress be reformed without a constitutional amendment?

Many of the reforms proposed here budget deadlines, anti-PAC laws, ethics requirements can be passed as regular federal legislation with a willing Congress. Others, like term limits, require constitutional amendments. The purple revolution argues that electing genuinely independent representatives is the first, achievable step.

Why should states pay congressional salaries?

Congress members are elected to represent their states, not the federal government. Having their states pay their salaries creates a direct accountability loop between the representative and the people who sent them to Washington and removes the incentive to protect federal power at the expense of constituents.
